Richard Fecteau (born 1927)[1] of Lynn, Massachusetts was captured by the Chinese during the CIA-sponsored flight over China during the Korean War. News of the capture of Fecteau and John T. Downey reached the United States in November 1954, sparking a nearly 2 decade battle of wills between the U.S. and the PRC. It was not until the early 1970s that Fecteau and Downey were released, following an admission by President Richard Nixon that the two men were indeed CIA officers.
